Chinese soldiers kill about 3 Indian soldiers

About 3 Indian army lost their lives during fight with Chinese soldiers along the disputed mountainous region of Ladakh (India) or Xinjiang (China) on Monday night. Tension continues to rise in recent weeks in the disputed region between India and China.

In 1962, the two countries fought a full scale war during which many soldiers were killed. After talk with government officials of both sides, agreement was made that soldiers of the two countries must not carry a weapon on the disputed region so as to prevent the escalation of a full scale war.

On Tuesday morning, the Indian army said in a statement that there was casualties between the two countries and there is currently a meeting between top military officials of both countries to avoid major conflict. As soldiers were not allowed to carry weapon in the region, it was unclear how it resulted into death of soldiers of both countries.

The Indian army said Chinese soldiers refused repeated warnings by Indian military after crossing the disputed region and as a result, both soldiers engaged in physical combat and stone throwing which resulted into casualties.
