13 years old girl shot at the neck while showing mom TikTok dance

A teenage girl has been shot and killed by a stray bullet while showing her mother some new dance moves from TikTok.

Amaria Jones, 13, was standing with her mum in the living room of their Chicago home on June 20 when the bullet pierced the window, passed through the TV and hit her in the neck, according to the local CBS station. Her mum, Lawanda Jones, told the publication of the horrific moment she released her daughter had been shot.

“She was showing me this dance called TikTok,” she said.

“I turned around and I was looking for her and she was on the ground reaching out like this, holding her neck. I was like, ‘What?! What?! What?!

“The last thought that I have of my baby is her reaching out with blood gushing out her neck.”

CBS reports two teen boys were sitting on the porch of the home and a 16-year-old boy was struck in the leg and a 15-year-old was shot in the lower back. Both were taken to hospital in stable condition.

Amaria’s mum said her nephew had been killed by gun violence one year ago near where her daughter was killed.

Police are still looking for Amaria’s gunman.

The 13-year-old is the one of five children killed in a spree of shootings over the Father’s Day weekend in the US.

A total of 102 people were shot in Chicago, killing 13 people.

The Chicago community is also mourning the death of Mekhi James, 3, who was shot and killed while riding in his stepdad’s car.
